1 review for Scott Silence eRide 20 Men Speed Electric Bike

  1. Don Bruce

Bought my bike just under a week ago.
First impressions: Love the look of the bike with the battery integrated into the frame rather than an “attachment on top” look of other e-bikes. Practical carrier and great having the “full time on” lights for safety in traffic. Mirror also very handy to keep an eye on the tin tops racing up behind you.
Although I haven’t needed them yet the mud guards look like they will do a great job keeping the water from the tyres off me.
The paint job looks black from a distance, but take a closer look with the sun on it brings out a blue metallic speckle, pretty cool!
The bike is quite heavy and if you need to transport it you will need to have had plenty of weet-bix for breakfast and a carrier that the wheels sit on, or a trailer. Don’t make the mistake that I did when I went to pick it up from the bike shop with a hanging tow bar mount carrier. The shape of the top tube and weight balance of the bike make it impossible to carry that way.
I must admit this is the first time I have ridden an e-bike so can’t compare it fairly with other brands. However I found it had plenty of power when required to assist with 4 modes, Economy, Touring, Sports and Turbo. Rode up hills with ease and managed to get the bike up to its assisted limit of 45km/h in turbo mode riding into a stiff wind on the way out to the airport this morning.
I have been riding bikes since I was knee high to a grasshopper, so that’s over 50 years of both mountain and road bikes, even had a chopper as a kid. I still have a collection of road and mountain bikes that I use but needed a little extra boost for commuting as I now have a few long steep hills to negotiate since moving house.
This bike will do the job nicely!
